Summary:
The Covid-19 pandemic emphasized the importance of medical equipment stockpiling, especially in preparation for High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) outbreaks, when demand often outpaces supply. To address this, a Newsvendor approach was applied to develop tailored inventory models and determine optimal equipment stockpile sizes for a variety of healthcare facilities.
