Summary:
Our project begins by challenging the existing recycling data, working on demand planning for each of the different sections of recycling. Next it transforms into a production planning problem where we need to determine the flow of materials through a proposed facility, understanding which area will be the bottleneck and what capacity is needed for the throughput of waste we anticipate. Finally we need to understand the buyers of the refinished goods and work to see if there is a routing technique that could minimize empty trips to pick up waste and deliver refinished products to nearby sites.
