Summary:
Our sponsor company Newell Brands wants us to address SKU rationalization from a Bill of Material (BOM) perspective, ultimately aiming to streamline and simplify the manufacturing process complexity. We will use a procedure with a series of steps that will help us create segments of SKUs based on BOM network metrics such as similarities among SKUs, uniqueness of components, in-degree centrality for nodes and other business metrics such as sales, margin percentage, cost etc. This methodology will help us to find opportunities to eliminate SKUs within a segment while reducing complexity and retaining as many sales as possible.
